Use An Inversion Table To Relieve Your Back Pain
If you suffer from chronic back pain, you may be looking for a way to get relief. An inversion table, if used correctly, may help you to get the back pain relief that you need. For the best results you should prepare your back for the time you will spend on the table. This will allow your spine to decompress.
Back pain is often caused by compressed or bulging discs. This table allows you to take the pressure off the disc in order for it to return to its natural shape. If you continue the process over time, the disc may heal and return to its normal shape permanently preventing your back pain.
To prepare your back for the inversion experience you will need to do some stretching of the muscles. Once the muscles have been stretched, the inversion allows the joints of the spine to stretch slightly and take the pressure off of your back.
One effective stretching exercise uses a towel roll approximately six inches in diameter. The person needs to be seated in their chair and lays the towel in their lap against the belly. Keeping that roll in the same position, the person will lean forward over the towel for fifty repetitions. This exercise helps to increase blood flow to the back, a critical element of healing.
The prayer stretch is an effective way to prepare the back for your time on the table. While kneeling on the floor, you will lean forward with your hands outstretched until they reach the floor. Your buttocks should remain on your heels for this stretch. The position is held for thirty seconds and should be repeated a second time before you get on the table.
After you have strapped yourself to the table you will want to set the tilt of the table. The inversion process places your feet at a higher point than your head. You should be at a 25 degree angle. Remain in this position for 5 to 10 minutes as a minimum, but feel free to relax pain free for even longer.
If you are looking for back pain relief, an inversion table may help.
Popping pills for your back pain will only temporarily ease the discomfort, it won’t fix the underlying problem. Using a back stretching machine such as an inversion table is a much better approach. It will decompress your spine and relieve the pressure on the vertebral discs. Many people find great results with these appliances.
