Lower Back Stretches – Secret To Low Back Pain Elimination
Many of the aches and pains we experience are due to poor posture. We slouch in chairs, stretching and tensing muscles not intended to be kept tight. We raise shoulders, tense necks and put our bodies through so many unnatural contortions in ways which we might not even be aware.
The good thing is that short of a medical condition like scoliosis, bad posture is actually quite easy to cure. When you realize that good posture is a skill that can be learned, like typing or drawing, you will be much more confident about it. Keep in mind, though, that it might not be easy, because the way that we walk, stand and sit are learned as young children. They are hard habits to break and until our bodies start complaining, there is no reason to change them. When you want to make sure that your body stays in good shape and when you want to make sure that you can eliminate the possibility of bad back pain later on, however, make sure that you pick up new, healthier habits.
Also remember that when you are thinking about good posture that you should do more than just learn to sit and stand properly. Also make sure that your body is in a good place to stretch and bend effectively. If you stretch well, your body will be able to shed the toxins that build up through bad posture. Remember that improving your flexibility is something that should feel very natural to you. It should not hurt or burn at all, and you will find that if you do it correctly, it will be wonderfully relaxing and gentle. If your stretching makes you uncomfortable or puts you in pain, it is time to try something else!
Our lower backs are under lots of strain. They support our upper bodies when standing or sitting. Imagine a bowling ball atop a narrow support and you begin to understand what forces our lower backs are under during every moment we are upright. If we are not standing completely erect, muscles in the lower back must tense even more. Also, when sitting, lower back mobility is further limited, resulting in both vertical and horizontal pressure on all the muscles of the back and spine.
When you think about how much time you spend sitting or standing, you can imagine how tough it is on your lower back, particularly if you slouch. Slouching isn’t something that hurts right away; instead, it will take ages to build up. The pain that happens is something that you may not even associate with bad posture at first, and many people end up using painkillers rather than exercises.
When you are looking at your spine, remember that you are looking at more than twenty four bones that are working together to give you the flexibility that you need. The flexibility can work against you though, because the tension at your lower back can pull your vertebrate out of true over time. When you have a misaligned vertebrate, this is something that can make your life much more unpleasant.
When you want to correct a misaligned vertebrate, or if you want to stop it from happening at all, you will find that it is time to look into how you can increase the mobility o your back and your spine. Make sure that you think about stretching and how you can loosen up your muscles this way. If you can reduce the tension of your lower back and if you can find an optimal posture, this is ideal.
Remember that your lower back stretches do not need to be painful. They can be very easy and fun and if you are short on space, they can even be done when you are standing up. You can do them during your coffee breaks!
Never start a physical training program that does not include at least some kind of stretching. Remember that keeping track of your spinal integrity is something that you need to do for your own health and fitness. Taking care of the hundreds of muscles that shape and bend our backs is of the utmost importance.
Thee are a lot of benefits that you can get from good posture, even without the reduction of pain. You will look more confident and in control of yourself and you will find that it can tell others that you are a take-charge kind of person. This can affect the treatment that you receive and you will feel better for it. Changing your posture for the better is something that can improve your life all around, so make sure that you pay attention!
